The new Downtown Ladysmith Public Washroom project received an amazing boost on Friday, Nov.ember 6th when the Kinsmen received a $10,000 donation from the Ladysmith and District Credit Union. The Kinsmen are spearheading the project and working with the Town of Ladysmith as well as other community groups and businesses.
The local Kinsmen club has done quite a few projects in and around Ladysmith and the local Ladysmith & District Credit Union has always been behind them.
“We have had amazing support from our Credit Union” project chair Duck Paterson said. “The board of the LDCU knows the community and realizes the value of volunteers and what they can do” he said.
Kinsmen Mike Richardson stated:
“The various playgrounds our club has done, with other community groups and businesses, as well as skatepark, spray park, etc would be almost impossible if it wasn’t for the support of the Ladysmith Credit Union”
LDCU manager, John deLeeuw, said:
“Our goal is supporting the community and being a part of all these great volunteer initiatives is what our board and staff believe in. Our members are community members and they benefit by all the work Ladysmith’s volunteers do. We know that without these community organizations our town would be lacking many great assets so we’re very proud to be a part of it all.”
